Is The Universe About Vibration?

Aug 06, 2019

Today I was listening to one of my favourite songs (Cosmik Debris by Frank Zappa). As a former yoga practitioner, I remember the end of our 30 minutes session always finished by “Om Shanti” like in the song by Zappa. So I decided to investigate.

Om Shanti is a mantra, greeting and parting salutation used in meditation, yoga practice and Indian religions. Om has no translatable meaning, but is believed to be the sound of the universe, referred to as the cosmic vibration. Shanti is a Sanskrit word that means “peace,” but is also translated as “calm” or “bliss.”

I also read further and found a website mentioning a low vibration that is making you look like shit. The 8 symptoms are easy to see:

  • Wearing mostly root chakra colors,
  • Significant debt or poverty,
  • Illness, particularly chronic illness,
  • Insomnia (inability to sleep at night),
  • Frequent accidents,
  • Significant/multiple injuries,
  • Dysfunctional relationships,
  • Excessive dandruff.

Will I Disappear With The Fog Of My Cigarette?

I’ve been smoking since age 17: it started with a cigarette and a summer alone without really knowing why. Maybe I cared too much about my cousins who didn’t invite me in Egypt.

Anyway there’s a vibration I just can’t shake: what the fuck is this shit? Oh, it’s just a chemotherapy recycled to treat acne vulgaris. Of course, profits aren’t really the goal. And that’s how communism is taking advantage of capitalism and medicine. Make no mistake: communists have no dignity at all.

Anyway the vibration is very simple: no dignity (I didn’t write “no diggity” even though it’s a good song). It’s like I don’t owe anything to nobody even though everyday people remind me how beautiful, generous and diverse life can be.

The right system is of course generosity and diversity. Sometimes I wonder why that blog doesn’t make money. The songs are diverse (jazz, blues, soul, rock, funk and electronic). And I’m sharing these songs almost for free (I removed ads for now).

Can You Feel The Beat Of My Heart?

There’s really an evil vibration in my adolescence: doing something crazy and realising a few years after that it could have been really wrong. But I guess life is about that: making choices you won’t regret.

Sometimes I like to think that joy is about choosing. They say it implies also giving up something but I don’t feel bad choosing to go to Beirut by the sea highway. Yes sometimes evil vibrations can thrive because you can’t decide.

Should you send a word of excuse or should you sublime your rage? Why don’t you go to the police if you feel there’s something wrong going on? Again if you go to the police you must find the words. And it’s much easier to let the words find you.

Selfish And Lazy Vibrations All Around.

I must confess: my life was marked by selfishness and laziness and that might be why I was the one who found the code for a better humanity. You know it’s in my heart. Sometimes I think I should be lazy and selfish: I would feel less alone.

I know I have to give thanks but I guess without a picture to remind me of the event, I won’t be able to find the words. A picture is worth a 1000 word and that’s also why I included pictures in my posts.

Suddenly I have an illumination: maybe the posts that work well are the ones with funny pictures illustrating a paragraph? Because I know people don’t have time to read and they need the bottomline.

If the universe is about vibrations, then I guess mine will be: “when I’m sad, she comes to me and she tells me to take anything I want from her”.

Who Will Be Able To Tell The Future Correctly?

Zappa in his song mocked a typical psychic trying to tell the future: prices will rise and someone will die. But I guess the future is easy to see: revenge will surely come. If it doesn’t then we might have a problem.

Sometimes life avenges you without you really noticing. And sometimes you’re stuck in a moment you can’t get out of.

The vibrations angle is interesting: sometimes I wake up and feel like I’m a cymbal a drummer had fun hitting all night long. Let me tell you it’s a strange feeling but I know if you want to groove, you have to follow the drummer.

One of the best songs about vibrations is of course the Beach Boys’ one: “I love the colourful clothes you wear and the way the sunlight plays upon your hair”. So I guess a good vibration could simply be finding the right words that paint a picture in one’s mind!

Take for example The Beatles’ song about taxes: “let me tell you how it will be, 10 for you and 90 for me”. Be thankful I don’t take it all! Bob Dylan inspired Jimi Hendrix with his images after Hendrix’ first album.
